We have a consult service which is intended to fill in the gaps when other chiefs are out. That way dedicated team chiefs need not cross cover. In general it works out very well. When it was first propose (er...mandated), I took the name to mean that I would have to do all the new consults, or at least oversee them. Not the case! I am not sure how the name came about but essentially it should be called "The Resident Who Cross Covers Because We Aren't Supposed to Cross Cover Team." But consult service seems easier on the ears. And TRWCCBWASCCT doesn't spell anything cool.
I have finally begun turning in the forms necessary to request the Army to pay some of my loans down. It was a very depressing sort of evolution. I wanted first to elect to send the money available to the loan with the highest interest and simply pay it all off, then send money to the next worst loan, and so forth. After reading through the material from the first contract (DD 2475, I think), I have found that they will pay X dollars this year, X dollars next year and then 1/2X dollars in a third year, if any is left from paying X dollars to the other loan companies. My thinking was that if I could preferentially knock loans out I would be actually reducing the number of separate payments I would be making when I get out.
Anyway, in looking through the actual, current outstanding balances of my current loans I discovered I owe a lot more than I thought, by...well, by a lot. I suppose I could get frustrated by it all but that's not really my way.
Since I didn't get into this whole deal for the money, I guess I'm just not that worried about it. I have faith that somehow, everything will work out, as long as I do my part.
All bleeding stops eventually, but do all loans eventually get paid off?
